Furthur Announces The Summer Tour

I'm glad they're going further (the ugly rumors had them breaking up a few months ago); the tour includes dates in Brooklyn on July 13 + 14, those are the closest shows for me. The bad part is the mail-in date was yesterday; I mailed in for a few tickets, when I woke up this morning I received a message from GDTS TOO that they made a mistake with the price, oops. Lol, sounds like something I would do if I worked there. To make matters worse I think I spaced the ticket fees for one of the pairs BUT included an extra $20 to have them FedEx'd back to me (something I never did back-in-the-day) our mailman is a little wonky. I'm hoping that 2 wrongs make a right in this case. We'll see.

A Message From Bob Weir He Needs Our Help Now

Bob Weir writes:

I wanted to share this project with you, which is very important to me
personally and desperately needs help now:

On behalf of dolphins everywhere, my sister in law Leilani has teamed up
with the Oceanic Preservation Society (makers of the Academy Award winning documentary "The Cove") to bring awareness to mainstream America about the captivity and slaughter of our friends in the sea. There are many recorded incidents throughout history of dolphins saving the lives of people, and now it's time for us to return the favor. This will be the first ever ocean awareness themed race car to race the high banks of Daytona, and you can help make it happen! Anything you can donate is greatly appreciated and tax-deductible:

John Perry Barlow Speaks @ SOPA Demonstration

EFF is a great organization that John Perry Barlow co-founded; he's a great wordsmith; and a freedom fighter for our rights to free speech on the internet (and the surrounding Universe).

Swiped This Off Of Mickey Hart's FaceBook Page...

I hope he don't mind; it's an awesome photo; I'm using it as Wallpaper on my PC.

I was always a huge fan of Mickey Hart and I was one of those strange people who loved Drums and Space at a Grateful Dead Show. I always scratched my head when people would run to the bathroom during that segment of a concert. One of my favorite shows I went to was Planet Drum; I always thought Mickey Hart was so charasmatic, you could tell he was a guy lovin' life and his enthusiasm for drumming is contagious.

Zeppoli on Squidoo

Zeppole Made Easy has been gaining in popularity since I unlocked a Squidoo Ad; thus giving a boost to my other Lenses. I'll be doing a lot more Sqidooing and a lot less Facebook in the New Year (just starting to hate FailBook as of late) it's become a real time-suck with no chance of putting money in my pocket (as far as I can see). I'm also very disappointed with Google AdSense whom I haven't seen a penny of revenue from since I joined in 2006 but have made them plenty rich. I think it's time for Google to review their policy on AdSense; if Squidoo can Pay Out as little as a dollar a month, then Google can cut a check at least once a year. I removed AdSense from all my Blogs and sites, this is the only site I haven't done so just to keep my foot in the door. I always liked Google and use quite a few of their services, so I do hope they reconsider they their Threshold Payouts for AdSense. I love Google+, the people there are much more cerebral with far less drama and ads than FailBook.

Struffoli

Struffoli

Check out my Struffala Squidoo Lens for my family recipe; yes, I know I spelled it phonetically so I had to make another Lens called Struffoli which is an excerpt of a really wonderful book called Sweet Sicily by Victoria Granof. If you love Italian Pastries you'll love this book, she weaves in regional history and variations of the many pastries and feasts they are made for as well as Sicilian History. Enjoy!

The Magical Mickey Hart

Mickey Hart was always my favorite drummer; I loved Planet Drum at The Beacon Theater, and enjoyed his book (of the same name) and Drumming On The Edge of Magic. This is a really good article on the rhythm devil himself. Enjoy!

Ladies and Gentleman The Grateful Dead

Garcia My Best Photo

... er, no (wishful thinking); without Furthur ado (just funnin'), the new and improved Deadicated Blogspot. This was a tough call, however there is nothing constant but change; and change is good. Deadicated was my very 1st blog and it's older than when Google owned it; that's right, it predates "Big Brother Google", once upon a time a company called Pyra created Blogger. I've had the "Deadicated Blogspot since 2003. It was my way of working through my father's passing. I put it on hiatus since June, and after a long reckoning (haha, yes a Dead Reckoning), I mirrored it to another blog and decided to start anew (even though I think fresh starts can be over-rated). So fasten your seat-belt (sorry, got confused for a minute, that's The Other Blogspot) we'll be going to hell in a bucket but at least we're enjoying the ride (as a good friend of ours sings ;-). This Blog will be all things Grateful Dead, Hippie and "That's So Judy" (meaning my photography, artwork, surface design, print-making and my interest in our city (the best city in the World) The Big Apple.

In The End, We're All Dead!
