The fact is Bobby has HIPPA rights and while we all may mean well (although I question that because we all sound like a bunch of Molly Goldbergs) it's none of our effing business what is wrong with Bob; I'm guessing none of you have ever working in a hospital or the medical profession before.
*Get well ASAP Bob, we love you and are all rooting for you.*

There's Nothing Like A Grateful Dead Show

I went to the Brooklyn Bowl to see Zen Tricksters yesterday; it was a cool place, Brooklyn is like another world to Bronx people. We left after the 1st set; my friend thought that the Tricksters were like Dark Star Orchestra (who does a whole Grateful Dead Show). Not!
Sorry but for me there will never be a substitute for the real thing; I was lucky enough to see the Dead 250 times with Jerry, and no one has ever come close enough for me to want to go see the same band that many times. DSO was really good though; I'd see them again, we saw them at Best Buy a few months ago, it was worth the price of admission.

Let's face it, some of us dance to the beat of a different drum.
I wouldn't have it any other way.

Natural Bee Balm For Butcherblocks
1/2 ounce of beeswax
1/4 cup of mineral oil (you can get in a Pharmacy)
In a stainless steel saucepan or double boiler melt the above ingredients and let it cool a little; pour it into an Altoid Tin (not the itty-bitty one but the one the size of the old Sucret's tins (or use one of them if you have one), this is just the right size for the above mixture. Store in a cool dry place and apply to a clean cutting board, wood salad bowl or a butcher block surface with a clean cotton cloth. This will keep the wood from drying out and cracking.

Saw Dark Star Orchestra For The First Time
The did a show from the Boston Garden 1977; it's a great way for the live music to never die. The cops outside the venue were off the chain and it made me glad that I'm sober; I saw them take someone in for a joint. Really!? Mind blowing how you can be a criminal in one state and an entrepreneur in another. Funny how they never go after real issues that cost the tax payers in a big way like medical and welfare fraud; shame on you New York, this city isn't the NYC I grew up in. Inside was a little more laxed but not by much; I didn't see anyone being taken out but if you were smoking anything you had to be very stealthy about it I'm sure. I guess all this drives up the liquor sales at $9 a beer they must make more money off the booze than the music. No wonder people are leaving New York in droves. The show was great, I was pleasantly surprised; however I wouldn't follow them around like the Grateful Dead (although it's a nice escape from reality every once and again). DSO are a group of very talented musicians, there's no argument there, and the sound was awesome too. We met some friends from the road there and that was the icing on the cake; it's always good to be with like-minded people.
